The aim of this study is to examine the changes in the foreign trade volume between Türkiye and the European Union (EU) following the European Green Deal and to evaluate the effects of this process on Türkiye’s foreign trade structure. The study is significant in terms of revealing the possible impacts of the European Green Deal and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on Türkiye–EU trade relations. In particular, environmentally friendly production, the reduction of carbon emissions, and the reflections of sustainable trade policies on foreign trade constitute the main focus of the research. In the study, a quantitative research method was adopted and descriptive analysis techniques were utilized. During the data collection process, foreign trade statistics for the 2019–2025 period published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) were used. As a result of the study, it was determined that Türkiye’s foreign trade volume with the EU generally increased; however, environmental regulations and carbon-oriented practices became more decisive in trade processes after the European Green Deal. In addition, it is considered that CBAM may create new costs and compliance obligations for Turkish exporters.
